A charming, cosy crime novel with an intriguing mystery.

Bookshop owner Beth Cunningham has been embroiled in crimes before (please note here this is book 2 in the series, but I hadn’t read book 1 and could still follow everything), but it’s still a shock when her brand new book subscription service seemingly kills off one of her customers. Who would want to kill Nora, and why frame Beth?

The author has created a lovely cast of characters (though I was less keen on the police officer than her protagonist Beth was) who soon stand out as individuals. The mystery built well and not too predictable. In fact it was quite dark.

A series I’d enjoy returning to again.
