While this is the 8th book in the Nosey Parker mystery series, you can quite happily jump into The Cornish Castle Murder whether you have read any or not. Saying that, it probably adds to the charm if you’re at least a little familiar with the main cast.
In this book, Jodie ‘Nosey’ Parker 9ex-police) and her fiance DCI Nathan Withers are due to be married in the castle of the title when -uh oh! – a dead body is found on the grounds…
Soon enough, Jodie and a large cast of entertaining characters are investigating, whether or not they should be. There’s a lovely gentle and comforting humour throughout and while it’s didn’t quite reach ‘stay up til midnight to finish’ energy for me, it did maintain my interest. Would happily spend more time with Jodie and co in the future!
