This is a thoughtful novel about family, memory, and what makes us who we are.

Cat lives in a flat with her teenager Ruby, when she takes her mum Minnie in. Minnie has Alzheimer’s and her decline is sadly worsening. So when Cat uncovers a life-altering secret of her mum’s, how can she possibly get to the truth? Ruby has something on her mind too – something she doesn’t want to tell her mum just yet. And then Cat has work to contend with. She doesn’t even have time to think about romance.

And yet…

And yet life keeps moving, things change, and the pressure piles on. How will Cat cope? Who can she turn to, or rely on, as she has to parent both her teen and her mum?

This is a nuanced, emotional story. It is not surprising, though there are some gentle twists and turns, but it does feel real, challenging and yet lovely.
